The team left the hotel about a quarter after 1 today to head over to Legion Field for BP. They then headed over to the stadium, arriving about 2:00, to catch a little of the second game.
At the field checking out the Linfield-UMass Boston game, catching up with Jim Dixon from D3baseball.com, Fran Elia (Cortland SID), and Ryan Coleman (D3sports.com photog). As the team was walking in from BP, Todd (current Hopkins Assistant SID and former Blue Jay third baseman) and I headed out to the tailgate, hosted by Blue Jays Unlimited with the help of our hosts Dave and Kevin.
Saw quite a few familiar faces, including former Blue Jays Pat Steffee and Tony Margve, along with Todd's parents Linda and Bruce. The Emrs drove through the night from New Jersey to be here in time. Rumor has it that several other former Blue Jays will be making an appearance today. Also got some compliments on the blog from Dave Kahn's dad, which was much appreciated! Nice to know that someone is reading along!
It is about 4:00 pm here in Wisconsin, the weather is gorgeous, sunny and very warm. Linfield and UMass-Boston are in the top of the 8th with Linfield carrying a 10-0 lead. Don't think we're going to be getting to that 4:30 start!
